CALL FOR PAPERS

 

As part of the CO-SCIENCES research program, the University of Western Brittany, in partnership with the University of Rennes 2, IFREMER, Brest Iroise Technopole, the club of sustainable development companies and the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique organizes the 23 rd , 24 th and 25 th of september 2015 in Brest, France, an international symposium on science-business relations.

If the primary purpose of this symposium is to open beyond the "cultural" boundaries (disciplinary, sectoral), a shared reflection on the production induced by the encounter between laboratories and companies, his ambition is to be a place to meet for actors of the research and the business worlds. It wants also to be an oportunity to create new synergies and new forms of cooperation, factors of innovation and technological knowledge transfer or cobuilding.

The purpose of these meetings is therefore to highlight the diversity of these interactions involving several laboratories and economic sectors, and to reflect upon the material or cultural productions that outcomes of these encounters.

 

Communications

Two themes are subject to proposal:

  • Focused analysis / synthesis:

These communications will address laboratory-business relations and in particular, the role they play in the transfer and / or co-production of knowledge and scientific questions.

Although the environmental field, due to its potential is preferred, all proposal will be studied with the same attention. Papers can either focus on specific objects / fields or developp original approach or methodology. The synthesis work are also accepted.

  • Feedback of experience and Analysis of partnership project

It will be here to researchers and business representatives to describe the processes, interactions, brakes and levers at stake, but also the scientific constructions (production of technic, knowledge, questioning) in partnership projects completed or in progress. Oral presentations will be held by "two voices" to highlight the diversity of views and analysis. Competitiveness clusters, and other structures for economic development and support for innovation are strongly encouraged to submit proposals. They will put forward a reflexive analysis on operating modes and / or actions in particular.

 

Communications format

Papers may either be:

  • An oral presentation with a duration of 15 minutes
  • displayed in a poster. A special dedicated session will allow the author to discuss with the audience around his proposal.

 

Practical arrangements for submitting proposals

 

Whatever the size and nature, proposals will be reviewed and selected by the Scientific Committee on the basis of an abstract of maximum one page (pdf / doc / docx, about 3500 characters).

The abstract proposal must be received by june 30th, 2015 july 10th, 2015 !!!

The proposal should include:

  • the author or authors and affiliation
  • Title
  • the nature of the proposal (thematic analysis, feedback)
  • the format (oral or poster).

Accepted languages for proposal are french and english

The scientific committee will notify the author(s) of the acceptance of their presentation by July 24th, 2015.

The final texts of the presentations will subsequently be subject to a publication in acts or publication media partners. The scientific committee will inform in due time the authors concerned the transmission arrangements.
